When to start using anti wrinkle creams?
Posted on January 18th, 2013 by admin
Question..my friend heard that you should start using anti wrinkle creams at a young age so it will help reduce wrinkles when you’re older. Is this true? I’m looking for answers from those who speak from experience or know someone who started using creams at a young age.

before you get wrinkles, cause it doesn’t get rid of them it prevents them

wellll they dont work so i wouldnt use them
the money you will spend on those creams trying to figure out which one works(cause none do, youll keep buying) is the amount of money a face lift would be

Stay out of the sun and you won’t need it.

I honestly believe using them will increase the wrinkles once you stop and not using them at all will have your body naturally avoid them. Best to use something natural then anything chemically inhananced. [Just like make-up to cover up pimples, if not natural, increases them.]

Well, you should be doing regular cleaning, exfoliating and moisturizing to prevent wrinkles while you are young. Wrinkle cream is mostly tightening agent which can help prevent the appearence of wrinkles. I have been using skin products for several years. I get carded all the time, and I am almost 30.

My mother-in-law swears that the earlier you use them, the better! She’s in her 50′s and has been using them since the age of 22. In my opinion, she’s right!

That is a load of rubbish. Anti wrinkle cream helps to smooth them out and define them. I see a thing on TV that says it is just pouring money down the drain as young people do not have wrinkles to smooth out.
Moisturizing and taking care of your skin by not smoking and eating healthy is the only thing that you can do at a young age to keep your skin looking healthy.
Best wishes and don’t do it, its a waste of time and money.

It’s a waste of money until you’re in your 20′s. For now, the most important thing is that you wear sunscreen on your face every day.

Anti-wrinkle creams are for people who already have wrinkles and want to reduce their appearance. No asthetician or dermatologist would suggest using anti-wrinkle cream to prevent wrinkles because they don’t prevent.
If you’re still young and don’t have wrinkles or too much sun damage, maintain your gorgeous skin and prevent any further damange with SUNSCREEN.

my mom is almost 50 years olds and their is not a wrinkle on her. She started using moisturizer creams on her face (anti wrinkle) when she was 14!! I use it now too b/c I am 19 and want to look that good when I am 50. The best moisturizer I have found to use is Estee Lauder Day Cream. I use it at night though after I cleanse my face with Neutrogena Oil Free Cleanser and my face looks great in the morning!!

I think your friend is right. I don’t speak from experience but a friend of mine that worked in cosmetology said the same thing that your friend did, so I’d believe it!

The best thing you can do is avoid sun damage. The use of anti-wrinkle creams wont do you any good when you are younger or older for that matter.

My skin is so very very dry (I have a mild form of "Ichthyosis" – in dry climates my skin will crack open even on my face) that when I was about 11 my mum took me to the expensive make-up counter in her favourite shop and bought me what I’ve always laughingly called "old lady creme".
I used quite a regimen (cleanser, toner, under-eye creme and strong moisturisers) from about age 11 and was faithful to it all through my twenties and thirties (adding antioxidant cremes, exfoliation and a little alphahydroxy acid about 15 years ago). Now at nearly 43, my skin looks very good and very young…nobody can believe my age, they all think I’m in my late twenties or early thirties.
I credit the creme and have been trying to get my daughters (ages 14 and 10) to start thinking about serious skincare now.
Over the years, I have spent a great deal of time reading up on dermatology and have seen no reason to disbelieve the value of starting the cremes when young – it makes sense to begin before the signs of ageing show up…to me, that’s too late.
My mum has my undying gratitude for being concerned enough about my dry skin to go to, what seemed like, ridiculous measure to forestall the ageing process. I am sure that without all the cremes and careful treatment of my skin (patting dry, not rubbing my eyes, etc) it would have begun showing signs of stress in my mid-twenties. It’s that dry.
I found a book called "Skin Type Solution" (by Dr Bauermann) that helped me find some newer products and make a list of ingredients to avoid. I’d recommend starting there…take the quiz and then read up on the recommendations paying particular attention to the list of ‘don’t's – very helpful.
Go for it…it’s worth the money and worth the effort!
